Twenty-one persons have died and several more have been injured in varied degrees as a result of a devastating head-on collision between two vehicles on the Kumasi-Accra route.
On the Breku section of the road in the Ashanti Region, there was an incident between a Sprinter bus and a minibus on Friday night.
Witnesses related that one of the drivers may have been speeding when he attempted an improper overtake, which resulted in the fatal incident.
According to preliminary accounts, seven more people died from their injuries at the Juaso and Konongo Government Hospitals, while 14 people—including both drivers—sadly perished at the scene.
The deceased have been sent to Konongo Government Hospital, while surviving are being treated for their wounds at this time.
