An official at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Richard Frimpong, has died in an accident after his vehicle plunged into the Boti River. The accident is said to have occurred on Saturday on the Akyem Oda-Nkwanta road in the Eastern Region. The deceased is reported to be the second-in-command for GRA, Akyem Oda Division. At least 17 people have been found dead in a nightclub in South Africa’s East London city, local media report. Suspects linked to the killing of at least 40 people in a church in south-west Nigeria have been detained by a regional security force, the authorities there say. Gunmen stormed the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo state, during a service earlier this month and opened fire. Parliament has directed the Defence Minister to immediately withdraw the military personnel assisting the installation of prepaid meters at Lower Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region.
