Three people have died as a result of a fight between Manso Tontokrom locals and private security guards assigned to protect Asanko Gold Mines Limited’s concession. The resident was shot and killed during the Saturday confrontation, which turned violent as the security guards opened fire. In the Ashanti Region’s Offinso North District, a tricycle carrying three people including a pregnant woman collided with a tipper truck, resulting in the deaths of the three people. Six further victims of injuries are being treated at different medical facilities, one of which being the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. According to a recent study, oil and gas extraction companies should strengthen safety procedures, integrate contract workers in site safety management plans, and enhance training on job and equipment hazards. OSHA data from January 2015 to July 2022 was examined by researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in order to identify serious patterns in the oil and gas extraction sector. Following the upcoming National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, OSHA is urging businesses to take a break and spread awareness of fall dangers and the value of fall protection. The AFP news agency has been informed by local and security sources that scores of Muslims were slain in an attack on a mosque in eastern Burkina Faso on the same day as another horrific attack on Catholics attending mass.
