The reconstruction of the wipe-out Bogoso-Appiatse community is scheduled to start on Sunday, May 15, 2022. This is according to the Deputy Lands Minister and the Chairman of the Appiatse Reconstruction Implementation Committee, Benito Owusu-Bio. Police in New York are investigating a shooting with multiple reported injuries at a Brooklyn subway station. According to local media, shots were fired at the 36th Street station in Sunset Park around 0830 local time (1330 GMT) on Tuesday morning. Officials have warned residents to avoid the area and expect delays. At least four train lines are also said to be delayed in both directions. An accident at Gomoa Potsin on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway in the Central Region has claimed the life of one person. Four others are also in critical condition and have been hospitalised at Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital. The accident reportedly occurred at Mustapha Plus junction near Potsin Junction. Deputy Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Benito Owusu-Bio, has announced that 31 housing units comprising 110 rooms will be ready for displaced residents of the Appiatse community by May 1, 2022. He said the construction works are being expedited to ensure they meet the new timeline as scheduled. The Asokwa District Court has remanded into police custody, a 25-year-old commercial bus driver who is alleged to have stabbed a KMA security guard to death at the Kejetia bus terminal on Saturday. The court has also remanded the driver’s mate, 19-year-old Festus Adu Gyamfi, as he has been charged with abetment of murder. The two are expected to reappear before the court on 4th May 2022. Nine persons have been killed in an attack at Zacholi, a suburb of Yendi. Four others were also injured in the attack. Several homes were also burnt and several properties destroyed. An Accra-bound military bus carrying some military personnel has been involved in an accident between Adjei- Kojo and Tema Abattoir stretch of the Accra-Tema Motorway. According to an update from the police, MTTD personnel are at the scene of the accident to manage traffic flow. The Road Safety Management Services Limited is also at the scene to recover and tow the rolled-over bus to allow for the flow of traffic.
