The Appiate Support Fund, which was set up to mobilise adequate funds to rebuild the community destroyed by a fatal explosion, has received over GHS 35 million in donations so far. A shooting incident at Asunafo in the Kwabeng District of the Eastern Region has led to the death of a resident. According to the Eastern Regional Police Command, the incident that occurred on Friday, April 1, has left eight others with gunshot wounds. The deceased was pronounced dead upon arrival with the eight injured at the Enyirensi Government Hospital. The Commissioner of Insurance of the National Insurance Commission (NIC), Dr Justice Ofori has joined hands with COP Francis Aboagye Nyarko, Director-General of the MTTD of the Ghana Police Service in a swoop in the Eastern Region to clamp down on vehicles carrying with them fake motor insurance policies. Two persons died on the spot while three others sustained serious injuries after a trailer crashed into a Toyota Hiace vehicle loaded with soaps at Gomoa Bewadze on the Kasoa Cape-Coast Highway.
