At least one person is reported dead and several others seriously injured following the clash between two groups on Wednesday over a mining concession in Tarkwa. Padua, Italy — Proving that it’s better late than never, Italian researchers have concluded that 20 minutes a day of moderate to vigorous exercise in early old age (70-75) can help ward off major heart disease after 80. Researchers at the University of Padua reviewed data from the Progetto Veneto Anziani, a study of nearly 2,800 Italian men and women 65 and older. The participants underwent baseline health and medical history assessments between 1995 and 1997, and follow-ups were conducted four and seven years later. A toddler has died after being attacked by a dog at her own home, Merseyside Police has said. Officers received a report of a dog attack at an address in the Blackbrook area of St Helens at around 3.50 pm. The 17-month-old girl was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries. The dog was handed over to the Police at the address and has been humanely destroyed. At least 15 persons have been burnt to death in an accident on the Takoradi- Cape Coast highway. According to reports, the incident happened at Asemasa Number 1 in the Western Region on Tuesday around 2:00pm. Fifteen persons aboard an Accra-bound Ford vehicle from Tarkwa are believed to have died in an accident at Asem Asa in the Shama District, near the boundary between Western and Central. A number of bodies at the scene of the accident were left charred after the crashed bus caught fire.
