At least one person is reported dead and several others seriously injured following the clash between two groups on Wednesday over a mining concession in Tarkwa. The two sides involved in the dispute are alleged to be affiliated to small-scale mining giant, Okobeng and Deputy Lands & Natural Resources Minister, George Mireku Duker. Padua, Italy — Proving that it’s better late than never, Italian researchers have concluded that 20 minutes a day of moderate to vigorous exercise in early old age (70-75) can help ward off major heart disease after 80. Researchers at the University of Padua reviewed data from the Progetto Veneto Anziani, a study of nearly 2,800 Italian men and women 65 and older. The Upper East Regional Police Command is said to have commenced investigations into the alleged killing of a 37-year-old man at Buabula by three police officers. A toddler has died after being attacked by a dog at her own home, Merseyside Police has said. Officers received a report of a dog attack at an address in the Blackbrook area of St Helens at around 3.50 pm. The 17-month-old girl was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries. At least 15 persons have been burnt to death in an accident on the Takoradi- Cape Coast highway. According to reports, the incident happened at Asemasa Number 1 in the Western Region on Tuesday around 2:00pm.
