Four more policemen and one civilian have been arrested for their involvement in the bullion van robberies that rocked Ghana last year. According to the Police, further investigations they had conducted had led to the arrest of the five. They are Constable Affisu Yaro Ibrahim, Constable Richard Boadu, Constable Rabiu Jambedu, Constable Albert Ofosu and Suspect, Razak Alhassan, a civilian. The Ghana Police Service has given a detailed account of how two Police officers who were initially arrested in connection with the rampant bullion van robberies that occurred last year, lost their lives. A mass burial will be held yesterday, March 11, for persons who lost their lives in the Appiatse explosion in the Prestea-Huni-Valley Municipality of the Western Region. The explosion, which occurred on January 20, 2022, near Bogoso, claimed 13 lives leaving 59 others severely injured, including a 15-month-old baby. Out of the number, some of the victims have already been laid to rest, with the remaining expected to be buried today. Russia is striking civilian targets in Ukraine, including hospitals, nurseries, and schools, the Ukrainian deputy prime minister has said, Olha Stefanishyna told the BBC that, after “strong resistance” from the Ukrainian army, there was an “enormous operation” by Russia against civilians. Two more persons involved in the Wassa Asikuma accident in the Western Region have died, bringing the total death toll to eight. The accident occurred when a KIA truck and a Sprinter Bus were involved in a head-on collision at Wassa Asikuma on Thursday, March 3, 2022. A downpour in the Ho Municipality on Wednesday brought down giant billboards, ripped off buildings and uprooted trees in parts of the Volta Regional Capital. The rainstorm, which lasted for some 45 minutes, caused severe destruction to some structures within the municipality. They are; JoyNews’ Seth Kwame Boateng who placed first and Myjoyonline.com/Nhyira FM’s Emmanuel Kwasi Debrah, second place.
