The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has reviewed its isolation guidelines for international arrivals testing positive for the Covid-19 virus at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA). In a press statement signed by Director-General, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, the Service noted that effective December 24, it will introduce home isolation for international arrivals who are vaccinated but have contracted the virus and are asymptomatic. “Persons following assessment by the Port Health Unit of the Ghana Health Service and found to be eligible will be allowed to undergo isolation in their homes. Security personnel believed to be protecting the concession of Adamus Resources, a gold mining company at Nkroful in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region, have allegedly burnt alive an illegal miner they arrested on the concession at Anwia-Bokazo. An interdisciplinary research team from the University of Göttingen and Hannover Medical School (MHH) has detected significant changes in the heart muscle tissue of people who died from Covid-19. Damage to lung tissue has been the research focus in this area for some time and has now been thoroughly investigated. Two children, a 12-year-old girl, and a two-month-old baby have been confirmed dead after a dawn fire swept through a residential apartment at Buokrom Estate in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. A Bolt driver based in Sekondi-Takoradi has been allegedly set on fire by a passenger. The unfortunate incident is said to have occurred on the night of Wednesday, December 22. According to sources, the unidentified rider who poured petrol on the driver for reasons unknown is currently at large. A good Samaritan who chanced upon the incident raised the alarm.
