Nine suspects have been picked up by a joint police and military team in Kuyore in the Tatale Sanguli District of the Northern Region, following Friday’s chieftaincy dispute that left one dead and several others injured. Ghana has detected some 34 cases of the Omicron variant at its port according to the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR). According to the police, the driver of the Wa bound VVIP bus with registration number, GT 5693-15 allegedly lost control over the steering wheel and veered off the road. They were among twelve school children in a Nissan Almera taxi with registration number GS 5736-09 driven by one Erasmus Atiemo from Mampong to Mamfe. Three persons have been confirmed dead in an accident at Sege in the Ada West District of the Eastern Region on Saturday. Seven others are said to have sustained various degrees of injuries in the crash involving a Ford bus, a Sprinter, and a tipper truck. At least 23 people have drowned after a bus traveling to a wedding plunged into a flooded river in Kenya. Video footage shows the bus was swept away after the driver tried to cross fast-flowing water over a bridge in the Enziu River, about 200km (125 miles) east of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
