In the Ashanti Region’s Offinso North District, a tricycle carrying three people including a pregnant woman collided with a tipper truck, resulting in the deaths of the three people.
Six further victims of injuries are being treated at different medical facilities, one of which being the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
At approximately six o’clock on Thursday, February 29, an accident happened on the Akomadan-Konkoma route.
The tipper truck hauling sand collided head-on with the trike carrying a variety of craftsmen as it traveled into the Akomadan township on a small stretch of road.
Elijah Mamoa, the National Disaster Management Organization’s (NADMO) Offinso North District Director, verified the occurrence.
There was a collision between a trike and a tipper truck. The trike was making its way back to Akumadan, where it was transporting passengers before to the head-on collision, while the tipper truck was making its way back to their base, where they gather sand.
Owing to the tricycle’s weakness, six individuals were transferred to various hospitals based on the severity of their injuries, while two individuals—one of whom was even pregnant—were crushed instantly. The three bodies have been placed at the morgue as we speak.
