New research has revealed that vaping could raise the risk of problems in the bedroom.
The study, by New York’s Grossman School of Medicine and John Hopkins University, found that healthy men who vape nicotine daily are twice as likely to experience erectile dysfunction as to those who don’t.
The study surveyed more than 13,000 men over the age of 20 and found that daily vapers were 2.2 times more likely to report impotence compared to men who had never vaped.
Similarly, in a smaller sample of men with no history of cardiovascular disease, vapers were 2.4 times more likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction compared to non-vapers.
Sunrise GP Dr Ginni Mansberg said she hopes the “massive” study will serve as a reminder that using vape pens and e-cigarettes is not risk-free.

“We already know that it causes heart disease and lung disease,” she explained.
“But I reckon the erectile dysfunction thing might be the thing that actually makes people give it up.”
Smoking has long been linked to sexual dysfunction, potentially due to the impact of nicotine on blood vessel function.
It is thought e-cigarettes could have a similar effect.
The study did not prove the link, but experts believe a high level of nicotine in vaping liquid reduces blood flow by hampering the ability of blood vessels to dilate.
